How To Deal With And Create Change — Tea, Tips & Talk

Learn how to deal with and create positive change in your life at this upcoming panel discussion with Leo Babauta, Matt Frazier, and Jesse Jacobs at Samovar Tea Lounge on October 29 at Samovar Tea Lounge Yerba Buena Gardens

Have you ever noticed how the more you try to hold on to something, the more it slips away? 2,500 years ago, Greek philosopher Heraclitus wrote, “Change is the only constant.” But if change is inevitable why do we spend so much energy fighting it?

On the other hand, something seem impervious to change. The more you try change them, the more permanent they feel, caste in concrete, bolted in place. New job, new relationship, new habits, why is it that sometimes you just can’t instigate the change you want?

I’d like to invite you to Samovar Tea Lounge on Tuesday night, October 29 to drink tea with me and my friends Leo Babauta, of zenhabits.net, and Matt Frazier author of The No Meat Athlete, while we discuss the paradox of change, how to deal with change, and how you can create positive change in your own life.

Leo Babauta, who knows a thing or two about change, will be joined by me and vegetarian marathoner/athlete/author Matt Frazier. We’ll be discussing the tips and strategies that we use to not just adapt to change, but to reach out and embrace it, to get out in front of it, to create the change we want to see.

While we chat, we’ll be drinking some of the Tea Lounge favorites.

Turmeric Spice Organic Herbal blends turmeric, ginger, licorice and other ancient healing herbs culminating in a full-bodied golden brew with subtle ginger heat and a citrusy finish.

Ocean of Wisdom Organic Herbal, our rooibos-based decaf masala chai-style brew was the result of a custom-crafted blend that we created by request for His Holiness The Dalai Lama to drink on his recent world tour. This herbal fills the cup with a dark crimson brew, deep and earthy with a subtle cinnamon and sweetgrass sweetness that drapes the tongue.

We’ll keep the conversation flowing with Maiden’s Ecstasy Organic Pu-erh, wild-crafted from 30-foot trees in the jungles of China. The fermentation process that produces this classic pu-erh creates an exceptionally balanced tea, smooth, rich and dark with a slightly sweet wildflower honey finish.

To round out the flavor — and color — palette, we’ll taste a pot of our vivid green Organic Ryokucha Green Tea. A classic genmaicha, this tea blends toasted brown rice with Japanese matcha powder and steamed green tea for a meal unto itself. Forward notes of brown rice crisps meet sweet green flavors that suggest warm grass and toasted nori.

We want plenty of time for everyone to ask questions, so we’re limiting the number of tickets sold.

This will be an intimate conversation and a fireside chat. I hope you’ll join us!
